One person was injured in a traffic accident that occurred this morning in Girne.
Police report that a driver heading towards the east on Semih Sancar street in Girne at around 6.40 am reared off the road hitting a post, belonging to the municipality, and then swerved out of control hitting three vehicles in a market car park and then a 25-year old pedestrian named Demba Dabel who was on the pavement.
Dabel was taken to the Girne Akçiçek hospital and is being kept under observation.
Police are searching for the driver who escaped the scene and an investigation into the incident is continuing.
