Cyprus Turkish Journalists Association awards announced

Cyprus Turkish Journalists Association (KTGB) has announced those who have received ‘Media Success and Incentive Awards’ and ‘Service Honor Awards’.
Awards determined according to the regulations by the Cyprus Turkish Journalists Association will be handed out at a reception on Wednesday, July 13th, in line with the 11th of July Press Day.

In a statement by the Cyprus Turkish Journalists Association, the Award Committee chaired by Efdal Keser, and members Ümral Akpınar, Damla Soyalp, Cemal Yıldırım, and Çağdaş Öğüç determined those who will receive the 2022 year awards.

Special Awards:

‘Young Talent Special Award’: Doğan Samer (Kıbrıs)

‘Peace Journalism Special Award’: Nedim Enginsoy (for his photograph titled “The agony of Greek Cypriots on their return to the ghost city of Maraş”)

‘Hakan ÇAKMAK Media Culture and Art Award’: Ali Atamer (with Perihan Aziz and Neriman Cahit Documentaries)

‘Academic Work Award for Contributions to the Profession of Journalism’: Huri Yontucu (for the academic study titled “The effects of the socio-psychological processes of Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot journalists on the stance towards peace journalism and war journalism”

25 people who have completed their 25 years in the press industry will also be handed the ‘Service Honor Award’.
