The suspect Sefer Buğra Altundağ (21), in the murder case of 16-year-old Zehie Helin Reessur in İskele yesterday, was brought to court this morning.
İskele District Court gave a one-day detention order for the murder suspect Sefer Buğra Altundağ.
The prosecutor of the trial, Ayşe Kaymak, requested a one-day detention, noting that, in line with the statements by the Investigative Officer Deputy Inspector Erdim Kara, an autopsy will be carried out this morning and that the result might affect the course of the trial.
Judge Şevket Gazi accepted the one-day detention request following statements of the Prosecutor. The suspect will appear in court again tomorrow.
The suspect, who fled to the south, gave two voluntary statements.
The investigation officer Deputy Inspector Erdim Kara brought light to the incident in his statement at the court.
According to the statement, between 1:55 am and 02:12 am on January 25, following an argument the suspect Sefer Buğra Altundağ killed 16-year-old Reessur in a vehicle, registration number LM 560 at a construction site of a company at the Longbeach region.
The suspect, who fled the scene, left his vehicle at Derinya and crossed over to the south of Cyprus.
It was stated that the suspect, who was handed over from South Cyprus at 19.05 yesterday evening, gave two voluntary statements.
Stating that an autopsy will be carried out on the victim at the Lefkoşa Dr.Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital this morning, Deputy Inspector Erdim Kara said that the result might affect the course of the trial and ordered detention for the suspect.
Judge Şevket Gazi stated that the case covered serious crimes such as “premeditated murder”, “homicide”, “fatal harm (crime)” and “serious assault” and ordered the suspect to be detained for one day.
The suspect’s lawyer stated that he had no objections to detention.
